Unveiling the Tests Conducted on Vacuum Flasks Before Leaving the Factory: Part Three

There are stories in every cup, and warmth in every life. Hello everyone, "Dong Dong's Cup Talk" is here! https://www.zhanyict.com/en/ProductsDetail-VB-10517.htmlToday, we've invited Minister Li Hang from our factory's Quality Inspection Department to talk about the tests that stainless steel vacuum flasks undergo before leaving the factory. The following content is based on Minister Li's narration and has been compiled by me. Due to the extensive content, I will share it in multiple parts.

Hello everyone, I'm Li Hang. I've been working in quality inspection at this factory for fifteen years. Over these years, I've led my team in testing millions of cups, from orders for major domestic supermarkets to stringent projects exported to Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea. https://www.zhanyict.com/en/ProductsDetail-VB-10517.htmlAlmost every day, I deal with data related to salt spray, drop tests, and thermal insulation performance. At the same time, I'm also a mother of a six-year-old boy. Every day, when I prepare warm water for my child to take to kindergarten, what concerns me most, just like you, is whether the cup is truly safe, durable, and healthy.

Today, I want to take you behind the scenes of the "graduation ceremony" that every vacuum flask must undergo before leaving the factory, https://www.zhanyict.com/en/ProductsDetail-VB-10517.htmlsharing my insights both as a professional and as a mom.

3. Drop Test – Simulating the Daily Use of "Active Kids" and "Careless Adults"

This test simulates scenarios where the cup accidentally falls from hands or tabletops.

Testing Standards:

The cup, filled with water, is dropped freely from a height of 1.2 meters (simulating the height of an adult's hand) onto a hard wooden floor, with three different landing orientations: base-first, body-first, and lid-first. https://www.zhanyict.com/en/ProductsDetail-VB-10517.htmlThe requirements are as follows: the cup body must not crack (note: cracking is different from denting—even thickened stainless steel vacuum flasks can dent during drop tests), the paint finish must not show large-area peeling, the lid must function normally, and the cup must retain its thermal insulation properties.

Practical Case:

- Globally Applicable but with Different Emphases:

Drop tests are mandatory for both domestic and international orders. However, for products marketed as "children's cups," we even increase the drop height to 1.5 meters and add additional impact resistance tests for the lid. https://www.zhanyict.com/en/ProductsDetail-VB-10517.htmlI once witnessed a cup that passed the drop test with the body intact, but a small buckle on the lid broke. This reminded us that the structural strength and material of the lid are equally important.

Mom's Advice:

When buying a cup for your child, aside from inspecting the cup body, make sure to repeatedly open and close the lid to test its smoothness and sturdiness. https://www.zhanyict.com/en/ProductsDetail-VB-10517.htmlA lid with a complex structure and numerous small parts is not only harder to clean but also more prone to damage after being dropped.
